My Wow Moment

When I first came to this class, I was really nervous about having to make a website. Now that I have made one, I realize that it was incredibly easy to make and to use and I feel silly for being so worried about it. I also was nervous about having to use a Mac because I had never used one before. This was difficult at first, but once I got used to it I absolutely love them! Next time I buy a laptop, I think I will actually even buy one. I am really excited about using technology in the classroom because kids now are so used to using technology and get much more excited about using that than writing with paper and pencil. There are also so many different resources to use to help teach your lessons that will make your job so much more fun and enjoyable for your students. I think in this generation you have to incorporate technology to help your students learn as best as they can.

Question 2: Final Semester Favorites

http://www.smore.com/

One of my favorite tools we have used this semester is Smore. This was a really fun, interactive, online brochure that was really easy to use. You can add pictures, videos, links and text to teach just about anything. I plan on using this in my class to help get my point across about different things such as a math concept, science lesson or even classroom management strategies. This could be used for numerous different things and is so easy to use.

Wordle is another one of my favorites because you can make any set of words into a neat and fun picture. This would be good to use for students to get to know each other at the beginning of the year, or during a lesson about the Presidents of the United States or any lesson with a lot of words. This takes things from plain and boring, to fun and exciting. It is also extremely easy to use for any age of students and you can change the colors, shapes and sizes as you wish!

iMovie is also a really cool resource, and very easy to use! You can use it on a Mac, iPhone or iPad and it is simple enough that your students could make your own movie. It is fun to do and see, and can be used for anything. Students could teach their own lesson using this and have a feeling of pride for making a whole movie. You can add words, pictures and music to your video easily and you can share them to any website or watch with ease.
